The MDU Bismarck to Napoleon 230kV project was a rebuild and reconductor of the existing 48 miles of 230kV line, including energized structure removal and installation of new ACSS conductor. To meet project deadlines, High Country crews completed significant structure replacement work while the line is energized, utilizing traditional hot work methods that are more cost-advantageous to our clients rather than robotic equipment, while maintaining the highest degree of safety. The poles installed were wood H-frame and three-pole.
